Nadine was born March 26, 1930, to Joshua and Ola (Bounds) Wimpee of Purcell, Oklahoma.
In 1936 Nadine and her sister Ruth lost their parents in a car accident on their way to Arkansas to visit family. At the age of 7, Nadine and her sister moved to Ponca City to live at the American Legion Home for children of World War I Veterans. She attended Ponca City schools and was a good student. According to her classmates she helped many to pass their biology and math classes. Nadine bragged to her children that she had 100 sisters at the home school and for many years, she enjoyed the reunions.
Nadine married Marlin W. Hill of Norman in 1948. They were married for 56 years when he passed away in 2004.
Surviving Nadine are 3 children; Sharon Hirad and husband Alex of Littleton, Colorado, Barbara Montgomery of Norman, and Allen Hill and wife Rita of Norman, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Nadine was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Norman. She enjoyed fellowship during senior outings and worship services. She really enjoyed singing hymns.
She was employed by TG&Y stores for more than 30 years. After retiring she continued her career as a Unit Secretary at Norman Regional Hospital until 1997.
Nadine was a fine seamstress and enjoyed sewing for clients, and her daughters, including making their wedding dresses. She was an avid reader and often reminisced about spending her summers up in a tree, reading. It is only fitting that the City of Norman would build their new library on the property that she raised her family.
Nadine loved to travel and made 2 trips to Iran to visit her daughter and grandkids. She made many road trips to Colorado to visit family.
Her grandkids say they remember Nadine for being a hard worker, her infectious smile and laughter, having a warm heart and being kind, loving and giving. She loved stylish jewelry, red cherry twizzlers and chewing gum.
