Mrs. Mary Lynne Simer

Mary Lynne Simer, 75, a longtime resident of Norman, died Thursday, August 21, 2014. She was born January 10, 1939, in Okeene, OK, to Wilbur and Mary Katherine Wieters. She graduated from Southwestern State College in Weatherford, with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and was a teacher for the Norman Public Schools for 26 years.

Mary Lynne was very involved serving the community through many organizations. Some of which are: United Cerebral Palsy, Among Friends Activity Center, Veterans Corner, AMBUCS, Delta Kappa Gamma, The Willows.

Mary Lynne was married to Sidney Craig from 1959-1971. She married Leroy Simer October 17, 1979.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Leroy.

Mary Lynne is survived by her children; Kathy (Clay) Burkholder of Edwardsville, IL, Paul (Vicki) Craig of Brighton, CO, Susan (Tom) Weaver of St Augustine, FL, Linda Craig of Norman, Pam Helms of Oklahoma City, Natalie Simer of Oklahoma City, Doug (Valerie) Simer of Moore; two sisters, Judy (Robert) Craig, of Loveland, CO, and Jane (Ken) Leeper, of Moore; 12 grandchildren; Rachel Wallace, Sarah Earls, Heather Craig, Virginia Craig, Braden Weaver, Abby Weaver, MaryKate Weaver, John Helms, Monica Helms, Brett Simer, Bryson Simer, Eryn Simer, by her two great grandchildren; Zoey Wallace, Aiden Earls; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her memorial service will be 3:00 pm, Friday, August 29, 2014, at Northeast Baptist Church, 905 East Rock Creek Road, Norman, OK. She will be laid to rest at Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK.
