He was born December 11, 1929, in Skiatook, Oklahoma, to Charles Henry and Esther Elizabeth (Greenleaf) Glover. He grew up on a 160 acre farm in Cashion, Oklahoma. He graduated from Guthrie High School in 1948. He joined the US Army in 1950 and served in the Korean Conflict with the Fighting 45th Infantry AKA “Thunderbirds”, Company M, 179th. He married Joyce Ann Lister on March 7, 1953, in Duncan, Oklahoma. They moved to the country outside of Maguire in 1960 and raised all five kids there. Tommy was a civil engineer at Tinker AFB for thirty years before retiring. After retirement he and Joyce traveled a lot and were camp hosts at various campgrounds on the Coast of Oregon, New Hampshire and Colorado. He loved being on his acreage and raising a few cattle. He loved OU Football and playing card games and dominoes. He also loved to fish and hunt. Tommy had been a Deacon at Maguire Baptist Church since 1960. He loved to build homes and helped his family members build their houses and he help build several churches as well. One of Tommy’s favorite scriptures was John 14:1-6.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Mary F. Thorne, Emogene Connelly and Virginia Tanquary and three brothers: Mahlon Glover, Sandy Glover and Rodger Glover.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; five children: Donna Kellmer, Deborah Hudson, Daniel Glover, Diane Glover, David Glover; 13 grandchildren; 19 ½ great grandchildren; one sister: Elizabeth Leniger; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Maguire Baptist Church. Burial will immediately follow at Fairview Maguire Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service with Reverend Mike Roberts and Reverend Jon Judd.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 4 – 8 pm at Primrose Funeral Service.
