Nora Linda (Baze) Savage was born in Muskogee on July 4, 1944 and passed away in Oklahoma City on February 19, 2024. She was blessed with a life full of love and positive experiences. After graduating from Muskogee Central High School, she attended Oklahoma City University and received her masters degree from Central State University.
Linda met Joed Savage on a blind date in June of 1973 and they married in August, forming a family with Linda’s son, Michael. Within less than three years, their family was complete with their son, Marcus, and daughter, Manda. Linda was a public school teacher, spending most of her career teaching French in the Moore Public Schools. It brought together two of her loves: education and travel. She took many groups to France and continued even after she had retired. Her shopping prowess was unparalleled and she had amassed many collections over the years. Linda was respected by family, friends, and colleagues for her quick wit, intelligence, and loyalty.
Her love for her family is immeasurable. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lon and Blanche Baze, her husband, Joed, and her grandson, Logan. Linda is survived by her children: Mike and his wife, Sally; Marcus and his wife, Brayden; and Manda; her grandchildren: Tarryn and her husband, Jackson; Kale and his wife, Kelsey; Hailie and her fiance, Dylan; Gabe; Connor; Ad-Astra; Rowan; Harper; and Nora; her great-grandchildren: Roman, Jayden, Bennett, and Henry; her siblings: Dick and his wife, Caroline; Sally and her husband, Danny; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. She was a loving and proud daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, aunt and Mimi.
Being born on the 4th of July, she always thought the party was just for her. Please honor that as you celebrate her life. The family asks that you consider contributions in Linda’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Central Oklahoma, the Alzheimer’s Association of Oklahoma, or your local public school.
A celebration of life for Linda will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071.
