Linda was born in South Bend, Indiana on March 10, 1949 to Roger Howard Clarbour and Perle Ruth (Foster) Clarbour. She grew up and graduated from high school in 1967 in Deer Field, Illinois. She enjoyed riding horses when she was in Illinois. Many of Linda’s family members began moving to Oklahoma, and she followed suit, making the move in her early twenties to be with them.
Linda settled in Norman, Oklahoma, where she met the love of her life and husband of 42 years, Stan Melton. The two were married on April 15, 1978.
Linda worked at Norman Regional Hospital for nearly a decade doing various different jobs such as switchboard operator and pharmacy clerk. She enjoyed her work with the hospital and always spoke fondly of it.
Linda and Stan had two children together: Bret Melton, and Melisa (Melton) Holmes. Eventually she retired from her position at the hospital in order to stay home with her children.
Linda was a very soft-spoken, sweet, and caring woman. She doted on her family. She was always finding good deals and giving gifts to her grandchildren. Linda enjoyed collecting rose rocks, making candles, and taking trips to the lake.
