Larry passed away Saturday, May 11 in Norman.
He was born January 24, 1956, to Evan and Dolores Nelson at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. He grew up on military bases and his favorite was Homestead AFB in Florida where he was a scuba diver and DeMolay. He made his career as a welder and commercial construction superintendent for W.L. McNatt & Company. Most recent construction projects were Norman’s Target, Johnnie’s Restaurant and Edmond North’s new gym. Foremost, he was a prankster and the life of the party!
Larry and his wife, Debbie would have celebrated their 25 years of marriage on June 2, 2013. She was the love of his life and took great care of him.
Larry is survived by his wife and parents; his children, Johnny Nelson and wife Daysha, Randy McCoy and wife Amanda, Kristi McCoy, Wendy Pool; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Carrie Baker and husband Ken; nephew, Derrick Nelson; niece, Erica Maynord; and his beloved dog, Bo.
Rest in peace Larry, we will see you again.
The family has suggested the American Cancer Society or Integris Hospice of Oklahoma as appropriate for memorial contributions.
