Kenneth David Powell

Kenny was born to James and Janie Powell in Norman on October 4th 1964. He was a 1982 graduate of Norman High School and attend Rose State College.

He remained in Norman except for a short time when he lived in Austin, Texas.

Kenny married Allison Whitlow in May 1982. Together they had two wonderful sons, Lindsey David and Tyler Paul Powell. He later married Katrice Roberts in October 2009.

Kenny was known for his love of life. He enjoyed hearing stories and jokes and was always the loudest laugh in the room.

Kenny worked as a machinist at Walker Machine & Fabrication, Newcastle, OK.

Kenny enjoyed many hobbies including Rocketry, drag racing, music, fishing, and was an avid OU football fan with a special interest in recruiting. He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted son, protective father, and cherished brother.

Kenny was preceded in death by his son Tyler Powell, Paternal grandparents Selmar and Dimie Powell of Washington, OK and Maternal grandparents William and Bea Cargill of Norman, OK.

Kenny is survived by his wife Katrice Powell, his son Lindsey David Powell and companion Ashley Morgan, grandchildren, Lindsey Kay Powell, and Ryleigh Dawn Powell. Step children Donovan Roberts and DaeJa Lewis. His parents James and Janie Powell, his brother Jamie Powell and wife Susan, nieces Taylor Sullivan, husband Rory Sullivan, their children Savannah, Finn, and Davis Sullivan, and Darcey Bruehl, husband Cameron Bruehl, their children Paisley and Lakelyn Bruehl. As well as many loving aunt, uncles and cousins.

A visitation for Kenneth will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071.

A Celebration of Kenny’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Meating Place 121 E. Main St. Norman, OK 73069.
