After a long fight with his demons, Joshua “Josh” David Hill passed away on October 24, 2018, in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born on August 30, 1990 to Terry and Deborah Hill of Norman. He attended Norman Public Schools and graduated from Norman North High School. Josh was a handsome, charismatic young man who demonstrated great loyalty to family and long-term friends. He met his best friend Jarrod, in 2nd grade. They shared a great passion for hunting; and over the last 5 years they developed a successful tree and lawn service. His clients described him as courteous and thorough in his work.
Josh’s greatest achievement was being an absolutely, wonderful father to his 2 year old daughter, Adalynn. He spent every free minute with her, and she was often perched on his back or shoulders. She was the love of his life. He was always thinking of ways to surprise her. For example, he would move her dolls and toys around while she slept; she believed they magically came to life. They often explored the creek near their home to find interesting rocks. Toad hunting with Daddy was her favorite game.
Josh was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Delbert Hill, who encouraged him to excel at hunting and taught him about honor. He also lost his maternal grandmother, Kathryn Grisso, and his dear friend, Don.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents: Deborah and Terry Hill; his daughter, Adalynn Rose Hill; siblings: Jeramy Hill and Megan Aguirre, her husband Adam and their children, Luca and Kai; his grandmothers: Cecelia Thornton and Raemma Hill; from Georgia, Uncle Barry Hill, his wife Kim, their daughter Ashley and her daughter, Bailey and their son, Justin, his wife Briana, and their daughters Leah and Sophie; Uncle Gary Hill, his wife Diane, son Lance and daughter, Christin Hill Thompkins, her husband Nick and son, Grayson; Aunt Sherri Jackson and her son, Sam; and from Texas, Uncle Jim Dixson, his wife, Pat, his son John and his wife Jeanelle and daughter, Isabel; and daughter Shari de Blonk, her husband, Kyle, and children, Brady and Maren.
A celebration of Josh’s life will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2:00pm.
