Johnna Myrle Chandler

Memorial Services will be Friday, 2:00PM at Primrose Chapel in Norman. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery, 500 S.W. 104th Street, Oklahoma City. Arrangements are under the direction of Primrose Funeral Service.

Johnna was the devoted wife of James C. Chandler, and is the mother of Kimberley Eileen Chandler and Kelley Chandler Kammerlocker. She is the cherished grandmother of Chandler James Johnson, Catherine Eileen Johnson, Addie Kammerlocker, and Vallie Kammerlocker.

She was born on April 27, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Eileen Margaret and John Franklin Davis.

Johnna graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1959 with a bachelor’s degree in Education. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. While teaching first grade in Midwest City, she met the young law student who would be her future husband of forty-nine years. Johnna married James Clifton Chandler at St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Oklahoma City on August 5, 1961.

In 1971, Johnna moved to Norman with her husband and two girls where she was active in the community. She was a member of Assistance League and served on the Chi Omega Advisory Board. She played piano for the children’s choir at St. John’s Episcopal Church, and was extremely involved in her daughter’s activities at George Lynn Cross Academy.
