John Moore

Blessed is the man that enduerth temptation for when he is tried he shall receive the crowning life which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 1:12

John Moore was born August 30, 1954 to James and Mary (Wilson) Moore in New Orleans, Louisiana. He grew up and graduated from LB Landry High School in 1973; later continuing his education at Moore-Norman Vo-Tech graduating with as Associates Degree in Electronics.

On September 30, 1978 he married the love of his life, Sharilynn Fountain this union produced three children.

As a young man he worked as a mason apprentice learning how to build one brick at a time. Realizing his life must be built on a solid foundation he accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour and Lord. June 1988 he moved the family to Norman, Oklahoma, though disabled, his strong work ethic continued at the University of Oklahoma in Janitorial Services over ten years.

John, loved his family, his Lord, Jesus and decided to unite with the Community Missionary Baptist Church serving in the Brotherhood as lead vocalist in the chorus, group president, and sound system technician. He transitioned to New Birth Ministries yet serving, being an available vessel for God, loyal, faithful, humble knowing there was more for him in the Word. On January 23, 2013 he was ordained Deacon still being willing to work in faith, with obedience, through love serving with joy.....He stayed the course, he kept the faith, and finished his race on September 7, 2013 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Ps. 116:15.

Cherishing his memory will be his loving devoted wife, Sharilynn of the home; his mother, Mary of New Orleans, Louisiana; three children, Renee’ Moore of Norman, John A. Moore (Lesley) of Garland, Texas, Renata Aiguomudu (Emmanuel) of Norman; three beautiful grandchildren, Aaliyah Danee’, Leslee Grace and Proper James; two sisters, Gloria Jason and Florence Hulburt both of Norman; one brother, Gary Moore of New Orleans, Louisiana; three brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; mother-in-law, Deloris Fountain; father-in-law, Ather Fountain both of Norman and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
