John Joseph Hamilton, Jr., of Norman, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011. He was born August 2, 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to John Joseph Hamilton, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth McKavic Hamilton.
John graduated from Bellevue High School in 1962 and went on to receive a B.A. in Education from Slippery Rock University. He was a retail store manager for several companies such as JCPenny and Target and thoroughly enjoyed his work. He loved traveling with family, genealogy, golf and of course OU football. His greatest achievement was being a loving father and Pap Pap. Nothing made him more proud than the birth of his kids and grandkids, and he delighted in taking care of his family.
John is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Hamilton.
He is survived by his wife Susan Silk Hamilton of the home; sisters Marguerite Victor, Dolores Graham and husband Jack, and Marlene Forrest; daughters Diane Van Etten and husband Todd of Southern Shores, NC, Julie Edwards and husband Paul of Broadlands, VA, Jennifer Hamilton of Los Angeles, CA, and Nancy Springer and husband Brian of Los Angeles, CA; son J.J. Hamilton, III and wife Tania of Santa Monica, CA; and seven grandchildren.
