Joan S. Kozlowski, 68, passed away June 23, 2011 at Norman Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Przepyszny of Buffalo, NY. She is survived by her husband, Richard, of 48 years, one daughter, Karen (John) Barry of Timonium, MD, one son, Eric (Ellen) Kozlowski of Norman, OK, and her four cherished grandchildren: Marilyn, Alyssa and Jill Kozlowski and Justin Barry. Also surviving are her mother, Sophie Przepyszny of Buffalo, NY; sisters: Rita Boniface (Larry) of Depew, NY and Terry Farrell of Lancaster, NY; niece and nephew Ryan and Lauren Boniface of Buffalo, NY.
Joan was an avid tole and water color artist. She was the President of the Sooner Decorative Artists. She was a contributing artist to the magazine, “Decorative Painter.” Joan was an administrative secretary in Jackson, NJ. She relished working in a variety of flower shops in Jackson, NJ, York, PA., and Norman, OK. She loved reading current best-sellers. She was attempting to learn Spanish by watching Telemundo with an English closed caption translation running and a Spanish to English Dictionary handy.
A prayer service will be held at Primrose Funeral Chapel at 6:00p.m., Monday, June 27, 2011 and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark’s Evangelist Church on Tuesday, June 28, at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Thomas Boyer presiding. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
The family requests memorial contributions be sent to St. Mark’s Evangelist Church or All Saints Catholic School, or a charity of your choice.
