Born June 3, 1965, in El Paso, TX, to Wilson Scott and Louise Sharpe, Jenny grew up mainly in Goose Creek, SC. There she had many friends and family who supported and loved her.
Spending much of her senior year with her father, who was stationed at Minot AFB, ND, Jenny graduated from Magic City Campus High School in 1983 while at the same time earning her pilot’s license at the age of 18.
Jenny met the love of her life, Paul Brown, at the Beacon House Restaurant in Goose Creek; with a wink he won her heart and from that moment their love story began. They married seven months later, November 7, 1992, in Goose Creek and were happy to have their own little family: Glenn, born in 1986, and Kristin, born in 1989. Jenny was a devoted mother, loving her children unreservedly, and remaining their advocate into their adulthood.
Jenny’s family has been and remains proud of her ambition, energy and work ethic. When the Navy stationed Paul at Groton, CT, Jenny volunteered at the Navy Family Service Center, providing administrative services, and later became a certified child home care provider. In 1996, the family moved to OK, where Paul held a job in aerospace and Jenny began her career in accounting, while at the same time earning an Associate’s Degree at Oklahoma City Community College. Jenny went on to earn both her Bachelors and Master’s Degrees in Accounting from The University of Phoenix, where she was a High Honors Student and voted by her instructors “Student of the Year’ for her last year at the university.
During her career, Jenny often distinguished herself. She worked in an accounting firm processing tax returns in addition to other documents; while working for a plastics manufacturer as Accounts Receivable Accountant, she was recognized for discovering incorrect practices and thereby finding a large cost avoidance. When this position was moved out of state, Jenny took a position at Consolidated Analysis Center (CACI) where she was a top performer on the government contract close-out team.
She worked there until her passing.
In her leisure time Jenny enjoyed sewing, crafting and antiquing, loving to visit antique stores to add to her large collection of Fiesta ware. With all the time she spent furthering her education and distinguishing herself in both this field and in her career, Jenny will be remembered most for her love and devotion to her husband, children and grandchildren. Her favorite role in more recent years was being “GiGi” to her three grandchildren. She loved taking them out and about, having sleepovers and sitting on the floor playing with them. Her love was so natural and intuitive that she could tell what they were thinking by the looks on their faces. She spoke “Toddler” fluently and her greatest joy was seeing and spoiling her grandchildren.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Paul Brown; her parents, Wilson Scott (Sylvia) and Louise Sharpe; and her two children, son Glenn Brown (Clorisa) and daughter Kristin Brown. She is also survived by siblings Cindy Znachko (Carroll) and Sharon Evans (JJ) as well as step-brother and step-sister Rick Moglia and Jo LaHood (Missy). Jenny had three grandchildren, Landon Brown, Nova Brown and Keanu Brown, plus many nieces and nephews. Lastly, she is survived by cool cats Belle and Kevin, in constant competition for her lap; and grandpuppy Honey, who gets the award for most spoiled dog.
Jenny was preceded in death by step-brother Peter Moglia.
The funeral for Jenny will be held at the Primrose Funeral Home in Norman, OK on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 2pm.
