Services for Janice Ann Piper, 66, of Norman will be 10:00a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Bob Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Madill at 2:30p.m. The family will receive friends Friday from 5-7p.m. at Primrose Funeral Service.
Janice passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 in Temple, Texas after a short battle with cancer. She was the only child born to Johnnie J. (Heath) and J.D. Carroll.
Janice’s family moved to Elmore City in 1954, and she went on to graduate from Elmore City High School. She attended Oklahoma State University for two years. At the age of 54 Janice returned to college, and at 56 she graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Mid-America Christian University. She retired after 30 years of service at Tinker Air Force Base.
In her free time Janice enjoyed to fish, knit, cross stitch, and crochet. She loved playing the piano and cherished her time with family and her church.
Janice was preceded in death by her father, J.D. Carroll and husband, Dale Piper.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Millie Eubanks and husband Chris; mother, Johnnie Carroll, of Madill; grandchildren Clayton Whitaker, Michael Whitaker, Hunter Ward, and Gracie Eubanks; sister-in-law Carol Pattillo and husband Pat; uncles Jack Heath and wife Debra and family, Jerry Carroll and wife Zelda; aunts, Peggy Davis and family, Dee Carroll and family; cousin J.C. Carroll and wife Gina and their son Bryce; and a host other family and friends.
Donations can be made in honor of Janice to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
