Jacqueline Jo Downing

Jackie grew up in Duncan, Oklahoma and graduated from Duncan High School. After graduating, Jackie moved to Chickasha, Oklahoma and resided there until 1990. Jackie moved to the Norman area in the early 1990’s and had many close friends and family. Jackie had worked as a business office manager and in accounting for OU and various businesses in the Norman area. Jackie had recently moved to Noble, Oklahoma in 2022.

Jackie was a very strong and independent woman. She loved listening to the Rolling Stones and Rod Stewart, having dinner with family and friends, being with her furbabies Rudy, Cinder, and Shadow, and the color Red. She loved her son and grandson. She had a strong love for horses and team roping, Jerry Busby and Denema Merrill shared this passion with her. All will remember Parquay and Snort.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents JC Canada and Bettie Jo (Inghram) Canada. Those left to cherish Jackie’s memory is her son James David Frye (Denise) of Tyler, Texas; brothers Ronnie Canada and John Canada of Norman, Oklahoma; grandson Clayton Detten (Olivia); niece Alison Canada Green; nephews Justin Canada and Jared Canada; great nieces and nephews Honor, Finnegan, Annie, and Jules; and furbabies Rudy, Cinder, and Shadow.

A graveside will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 1PM at Duncan Cemetery 1910 Cypress Ave, Duncan, OK 73533.
