He lived and attended school in Oklahoma City, and graduated from OKC Central High in 1955. Glenn worked from 12 years old through graduation as a caddie at Lincoln Park Golf Course along with brother Kenneth. He and Kenneth, along with Junior and Dale Watson, were city golf champions. They traded their clubs for M-16s when they joined the Marine Corp in 1956 where he became a veteran of two atomic bomb blasts. He was discharged in 1959 as sergeant. Glenn hitchhiked back to OKC where he was hired on as a lineman for OG&E. He met and married his wife of 53 years, Corene (Kirtley) Jones on December 5, 1959. Born to them were two sons, Glenn Jr in 1960, and Gregg, in 1966. They moved to Canton, Oklahoma in 1972, where they lived until his retirement in 1994 when they moved to Norman in 1994 to be near their beloved Sooners. He enjoyed the next several years playing about a million rounds of golf at the OU Golf Club where he also worked as Marshal. He and Corene were led by The Lord to Robinson Street Baptist Church where he was shepherded by pastor Bill Blair and where he met his Lord. He served and became a Deacon and faithful servant to many. His fight for life has been an inspiration to all that knew him well and although we will miss him, we rejoice in where he has gone, in the room that had been prepared in advance for him.
