Geraldine Inez Bruce

Geraldine “Jerrie” Bruce passed away on April 29th at her home in Oklahoma City. Jerrie was born in Pearson, Oklahoma on October 2, 1947 to Jesse and Mary (Shores) Rawls. She graduated from Earlsboro High School in 1965. Jerrie married the love of her life, John M. Bruce on May 3, 1967 in Durant. Throughout her lifetime, she had several jobs, some of which included working the meat market, serving, managing Mr. Burger, and a desk clerk at the Days Inn in Shawnee. Jerrie was a kind and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching game shows, house plants, riding with her husband in his 18 wheeler on his trucking trips, and taking trips to Branson with her sister, Ruth, back in the day.

Jerrie was preceded in death by her husband, John Bruce, her parents, Jessie and Mary Rawls, her daughter, Jennifer Bruce, her brothers, Ray, Troy, Burl, Doyle, Gene, Dewitt, Dennis Rawls, and one sister, Ruth Wilson. She is survived by her son, Leslie Bruce, sister in laws, Betty, Dorothy, Bonnie, and Connie Rawls, a very dear friend, Susan Murray, and by numerous nieces and nephews, which she loved very much.

Family visitation will be held at Primrose Funeral Home in Norman on Monday, May 4th from 11am to 1pm. Services will be held at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City on Monday, May 4th at 2pm.
