Francis “Pauline” Phillips, 91, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away after a brief illness on August 9, 2024. Pauline was the third of six children born to Don Carlos Kinsey and Nellie Fern Smalling Kinsey on March 29, 1933 in Blanchard, Oklahoma.
Pauline was a caregiver and put family above all else. Whether immediate or extended, if you were family, Pauline was there for you. And if you were a stray cat living in a gutter, Pauline was there with a fresh can of tuna. She was a big lover of all animals, but had a special place in her heart for cats.
Pauline was a hard worker and at times in her life, she worked three jobs to afford her shopping habit. Shopping was her favorite pastime. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. Pauline loved making people laugh and was frequently pulling pranks and practical jokes. She also loved telling funny stories about her life. Pauline was the life of every party, jumping up and dancing to any song that played. If there was no song playing, she would sing her own tune to dance to. She gained special enjoyment when her family would get embarrassed by her antics in public. She loved to entertain. Pauline will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Harold Kinsey and Donald Kinsey, and her sister, Phyllis Kinsey Daniels. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Scott Kenney, her brothers Doyal Kinsey and Billy Kinsey, her grandson Jake Black and his wife, Tricia Black, her granddaughter Kristin Kenney, her great grandchildren Jackson Black and Lincoln Black, and her many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Pauline will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Primrose Funeral Service, 1109 North Porter Ave, Norman, OK 73071.
