Doris Sylvia Hall, longtime resident of Norman, died peacefully in Dallas on Tuesday, December 8 at the age of 93. She was a beloved member of her family and community and will be greatly missed by everyone who ever came in contact with her.
She was born Doris Sylvia LaFleur in Holyoke, Massachusetts, on August 30, 1927 to parents Henri and Lea Crochetiere LaFleur. They married in 1949, raised three sons, and travelled the world as a military family until Dale’s retirement in 1967, when the family moved to Norman. Doris and Dale remained together in love until his death in 2012.
Doris enjoyed spending time with her Primrose grief support group doing charity work, sharing meals, and playing canasta. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Norman.
Besides her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her brother Rosario LaFleur, sisters Dora Delaronde, Lydia Dupont, Cecile Madeau, Bella Colty, and Esther Carney, as well as her brother-in-law Donald Hall and sister-in-law Imogene Williams.
Her survivors include her son John and wife Cindy Morris of Dallas; son Marcus and wife Anna and their son, Jacob of Garland, Texas; and youngest son Jeffrey and wife Heather of Waurika, Oklahoma. Jeff and Heather are the parents of Erin Abbott and her husband Josh of Midwest City, and Lauren Hall of Oklahoma City.
