He was born September 29, 1937 in Wichita, KS to Charles and Anna Marie Hart. On June 12, 1959, he married the love of his life Wanda Mace in Hutchinson, KS.
Delbert proudly served his country in the United States Army. He graduated from Emporia State Teachers college and went on to spend 22 years teaching as a shop, social studies and driver’s education teacher. He then went on to become an ordained minister and served for 25 years in the Nazarene Church. Delbert faithfully served the Norman community over ten years during his time with Primrose Funeral Service. He loved to travel and take road trips to visit with family. Above all, he loved his family and he will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Wanda of 59 years; children: Becky and husband Tim Marks of Paris, TX, Raymond and wife Twyla of Moore, OK; grandchildren: Kaycee and husband Michael Israel, Jake and wife Kat Marks, Andrew and wife Amy Marks, Caleb Hart, Shelby Hart, Chelsea Hart; great-grandchildren: Clarin Israel and Hallie Marks; sister: Ruth Ann Henry as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son Randy Hart and parents.
Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday October 1, 2018 with visitation one hour prior to service, all will be at the Norman Community Church of the Nazarene. Reverend Tim Marks will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the J.O.Y. group (Just Older Youth), Delbert was the Senior Adult Pastor for them; 1801 N. Porter Ave. Norman, OK 73071.
