Carolyn Alice Lauderdale, 80, of Oklahoma City, peacefully passed away on February 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on June 21, 1944, in Manhattan, New York, Carolyn was the eldest of seven children born to Dr. John Palmer and Jean Stark Colmore. She spent her early childhood in New York before moving to Oklahoma City, where she graduated from Northeast High School in 1962.
On August 27, 1966, Carolyn married Jerry Marvin Lauderdale, and after a few years in Orange, Texas, they settled in Mannford to raise their two sons. Carolyn was a devoted wife and mother, deeply involved in her children's activities. She adored her grandchildren, was passionate about all sports, especially the OU Sooners, and loved collecting items such as Precious Moments figurines and dolls.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. John and Jean Colmore; her husband, Jerry; her brother, Jack; her sister, Frances; and her grandson, Brennan. She is survived by her daughter, Jennie Barton; sons Ian and Sean Lauderdale; sisters Betty, Tina, and Nancy (Bob); brother James; granddaughters Kaitlin, Taryn, Elizabeth, and Melissa; numerous nieces and nephews; and her devoted friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Oklahoma Humane Society.
