Billy Harv Hicks

Billy “Bill” H. Hicks, 64, of Oklahoma City, OK passed away Friday, February 11, 2011. He was born January 28, 1947 to James William and Anna Elva Wright Hicks. Bill grew up and graduated from high school in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

He attended Oklahoma State Tech where he studied commercial arts. Bill went on to use his talents as a carpenter and display artist for Sears. He served his country in the Army for three years in South East Asia.

Bill was an avid sports fan. He loved everything from OU Football to Thunder Basketball, but nothing as much as his beloved Los Angeles Dodgers. He traveled the country in support of his team, and was able to quote statistics better than anyone. When he wasn’t watching sports, Bill had a passion for genealogy. He was able to trace parts of the family tree back to the 1600’s. Bill took great pleasure in his nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending holidays with the family.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents James William Hicks and Anna Elva Wright Hicks.

He is survived by his brother Jim Hicks and wife Bettye of Norman; niece Robyn McGetrick of Norman; nephew James Stacy Hicks of Norman; 6 great nieces and nephews; and one great-great nephew.
