William Edward (Bubba) Davis, of Norfolk, VA, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at his home, at the age of 88. He was born on October, 16, 1936 in Norfolk, Virginia to his parents, William Edward Davis Jr. and Nancy Claudine Dudley Davis, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married to his loving wife of 54 years, Loreta D’Antonio Davis, who also preceded him in death. He is survived by two sisters, Patricia D. Wilkinson of Chesapeake, and Cheryl D. Casper and husband, Craig of Norfolk, and numerous nieces and nephews, and several cousins. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Patricia Montague, her son, Albert (Skipper) Montague, who was Bubba's caregiver for the last seven months of his life, brother-in-law, Frederick D'Antonio and wife, Jane.
Bubba graduated from Norview High School. He served two years in the U.S. Army and was an MP. By profession, he was a Firefighter for the City of Norfolk. For many years he played baseball and softball in Norfolk and was voted into the Tidewater Softball Hall of Fame. He was an accomplished steel guitar player, who loved country music, and played in country bands for many years beginning in 1971.
