At the age of 84 Violet Irene Davis was called home Easter morning 2013. She was an amazing woman that rose early each morning and drank her coffee black. She was married for over 40 years until her husband James passed away. She loved her family fiercely. She taught hard work, and loved to come to all the sporting events she could as one of your biggest fans. She smiled at our weddings and held our babies. She spoke her mind, treated us but never over-spoiled us, had candy in her candy dish, and tried to feed you whenever you stopped by then stood outside as you drove away. As she leaves us behind we will smile at her memories and remember that she always loved ‘good food’, family gatherings, and watching the ‘babies’ have fun the best. She is survived by her two brothers, John Smith and wife Jewel and Charlie David Smith; her children Edith Fulghum and husband Bill, Janice Bryan and husband Ronnie, James Davis, Helen Busby and husband Terry, David Davis and wife Linda, Gail Garner and husband David; her grandchildren Sandy Gregory, Billy Fulghum, 3rd., Pearl Bochen, Kris Busby, Richard ‘Scooter’ Busby, Becky Busby Davis, Tiffanie Garner, Ted Garner, and thirteen Great Grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, Friday, April 5, 2013, 10:30am with the funeral service following at 11:30am. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.woodlawngroup.com.
