Suzanne G. Smith

Suzanne G. Smith, 91, passed away on January 6, 2013. She was born on February 3, 1921 in Paris France and came to the United States with her beloved husband James R. Smith in 1944. Suzanne and her family lived in the Indiana and Ohio farming area until 1954 when they moved to the Norfolk area. While in France Suzanne interned as a furrier’s seamstress and continued in that field as a seamstress at Greene’s Furrier until she retired. Suzanne loved gardening, raising most of her own vegetables and beautiful flowers. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James in 1980. Suzanne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving sons, Francis L. Smith and Pat Smith and wife Mary; grandsons, James and Shaun Smith and 4 great-grandchildren, Emma, Cara, Ronan and Jacinda.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 7:00 – 8:00 PM in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Rosewood Memorial Park, 601 N. Witchduck Road in Virginia Beach.
