Sharon was quick witted and always up for a road trip or an adventure. Perhaps into an antique shop or even a furniture store.
“Let’s just go see what they have”
Sharon was born in Billings Montana on November 22, 1947 to Winnifred (Smith) and Everett Hammond. She was raised in Billings Montana with her two sisters Betty and Donna. They had many cousins to play with and get into mischief.
Sharon lived an exciting and adventurous life. She spent time studying history and German language at Grossmont College. She had a longtime career at the Virginian Pilot. During times in Wyoming she loved managing Maverick convenience stores, all while being a busy mom.
Sharon was extremely devoted to her LDS and traveling often to many temples. She also had a deep love for her kitties and for the game MS. Pac Man.
On October 17, 1969 she married the love of her life Thomas G. Royal. They spent many years early on being stationed in different places during his naval career. They eventually settled in VA Beach where they spent the rest of their years. Together they had five children. Tommy (Kim), Lori (Bill), Bobby (Jolleen), Jacob Royal all of Virginia Beach, and Bonnie (David) of Gillette, WY. She has two sisters Betty Ferguson of Billings, MT and Donna Varnes of Gillette, WY. Her best friend until the very end Tracy Humrich. She is the proudest grammy to 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Sharon and Tom will celebrate their 54th wedding anniversary eternally blissful together.
GRANT US, O Lord, not to mind earthly things, but to love things heavenly; and even now, while we are placed among things that are passing away, to cleave to those that shall abide; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
