He was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, on the 1st of February, 1946 to the late Francis John Redding and Stephanie Potyrala Redding.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Flordeliza Redding, and his children, Richard Redding, Mary Taylor, and Christine Anderson (Joseph). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Collin, Callie, Amanda, Jessica, Ryan, Ethan, Trey, Corinne, and Tristan.
He was predeceased by his parents Francis and Stephanie, and siblings Francis Redding, Jr., and David Redding. He is survived by his sisters, Patricia H. Carlin and Eileen R. Donoghue.
Bob served with the US Navy for 21 years and US Civil Service for 13 years. He enjoyed being outdoors as he was an avid fisherman and hunter in his younger years. Above all, he adored spending time with friends and family. Seeing his grandchildren made his face light up. He loved sharing a good laugh over his pranks and mischievous stories.

A viewing will be held on Monday, July 11, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, Virginia 23502. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 10:00 am in the Woodlawn Funeral Home chapel.
Immediately following the service, Bob will be entombed in the mausoleum of Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Naval Military Honors. A reception will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home after the committal service has concluded.
