Robert Epstein, 79, passed away on April 23rd. he is survived by his wife Ke Jing, children: Jonathan, Elana, Justin, Roxanne, stepson Harold, two grandchildren James and Elizabeth, brother Jerry (Gerry) and other loving family and friends.
Robert was born April 30, 1930 in Benson Hurst, New York, the son of Helen and Nathan Epstein. After serving in the Korean War, Robert graduated from T.C.Williams Law School. He was a respected member in the legal community for almost 50 years. Beginning the firm Epstein & Epstein with his father, and continuing through his practice with Epstein, Sandler & Flora, Robert represented, counseled and helped thousands of clients, making a difference in their lives whenever he could. He was a long time member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Virginia Trial Lawyer's Association and the Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association and leaves a striking memory in the minds of our legal community. Robert was also a businessman who loved downtown Norfolk. His last venture was operating the Freemason Inn Bed and Breakfast, an elegant downtown getaway which he took great pride in. Robert was active in the Chesapeake Bay Ambassadors and many other social activities. He loved life and people and will be greatly missed. The funeral will be held on Monday, April 26 at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Chapel. In lieu of gifts and flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
