He was a retired Navy veteran with 25 years as a signalman first class. A devoted and loving Christian with 20 years as Assistant Pastor at the New Hope Church of God on Christ. He is predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Elsie Mae (Baker) Langston and son, Malcolm Dorrell Langston. GOD blessed him with two sets of loving parents; Leroy and Nettie (Cox) Langston and John and Mary Jane (Anderson) Raynor Cox; siblings, Alexander Raynor, Mamie (Oats) Raynor, Demetrius Raynor, Evon Raynor, Cleo Raynor, Lettie (Allen) Raynor, Doris (Luddley) Cox and Bertha (Gooding) Langston.
Left behind to cherish his memory are 1 sister, Geraldine (Dodd) Cox; 2 sons, Nathaniel M. Langston (Dawn) and Terrance D. Langston (Vivian); 8 grandchildren, Letitia Wells, Malcolm Dorrell Drew, Megan N. Juniper, Chelsea N. Langston (Jacob), Zachi A. Langston, Garren D. Anderson, Raquel N.Kumar and Chanel D. Pridgen.
He was a GOD-fearing, fun- loving person who loved to play pranks on family and friends. He was a Heroic man, having received a Life Saving Award for going "above and beyond the call of duty" from the Eastern Carolina Safety Council. He loved to fish and loved his Dallas Cowboys.
