Nancy is predeceased by her parents, Abraham and Anna Romprey; brother, Robert Romprey; two sisters, Carol Romprey and Beverly Donahue. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Claudette Crocket; husband of 65 years, Harry Tennien; son, Randy Tennien and wife, April; daughters, Kim Tennien, Kelly Spera and husband, Anthony, and Karin Adkins; along with 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Nancy was born in Winooski, Vermont on May 27, 1937. In 1955, Nancy married the love of her life, Harry and started their family. Anyone who knew Nancy, knew she was one of the most patriotic people who loved her country and our flag. Nancy always had a desire to own her own business. Her first business from 1969 - 1972 was Nancy’s Lyncourt Card & Gift Shop, in Syracuse, NY. After moving to Virginia Beach in 1976, Nancy & Harry opened A & M Market, Norfolk, VA 1976 -1979. From 1979 - 1988 they opened Convenient Food Mart in Norfolk, VA. In 1989 Nancy began working for NOB & JEB Little Creek Commissary where she was loved by many. She retired in 2018 at age 81.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church at 5345 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462 on May 11th at 11 AM with interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at 6309 E.
