Mary Blanche Kalmus, 69, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024 in Virginia Beach. She was born in Leonardtown, MD to the late Michael and Regina Hammett. Mary was a loving wife, mother and granny. She was very creative and innovative. She was an art teacher with the Virginia Beach Public Schools. In her spare time she enjoyed painting, sculpting and gardening. Very skilled, she was a talented seamstress and just as good when dealing with upholstery. Mary is cherished in memory by her loving husband of 51 years, Paul A. Kalmus; three children, Regina, Kevin and his wife, Aimee and Victoria; siblings, Donnie, Mike, Mark and Anne; grandchildren, Alex, Theo, Phaedra, Jade and Brenna.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 4-6pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church starting at 10am, Wednesday, January 24, 2024. An entombment will immediately follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
