Margaret was born in Norfolk, Virginia on August 29, 1924, to her parents Charles H. and Eleanora Flanagan Fentress. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, John L. Brown, a son, Terrence L. Brown, a sister, Evelyn F. Davis, and a brother, Charles E. Fentress.
Margaret is survived by her son, Christopher W. Brown (Susan), and daughter, Julia A. Moore (Dave); as well as her nephew Charles E. Fentress and nieces Carol Davis, and Cynthia Kramer. She is also survived by (8) grandchildren - Shelley Regan (Brendan), Jason Brown (Angela), Paige Youmans, (Carter), Mallory Hutton (Brian), Meredith Smith (Andy), Jeffery Johnson (Krystal), Joshua Johnson (Nikki), and Danielle Clarke (Jakeem), and 12 great-grandchildren. A special friend Vickie Evans also survives her.
Margaret’s family was her priority, and she demonstrated a lifelong love for, and abiding faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ. She was an active member of Temple Baptist Church for over 70 years. Margaret sang in the Church Choir and held various leadership roles teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

A Visitation will precede the Service at 10 am, with the Service to be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Temple Baptist Church, 3300 Tidewater Drive Norfolk, VA. Burial will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Norfolk. Contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to Temple Baptist Church, or to your favorite Charity.
