Kenneth DeWayne Craig, 63, of Virginia Beach, VA passed away on October 21, 2024 from cancer at Norfolk General Hospital. He was born in Wilmington, NC on January 15, 1961 . Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, Lowell DeVaughn Craig; paternal grandparents, Clayton and Bernice Craig of LaFollette, TN; maternal grandparents, Troy and Pauline Hinch of Detroit, MI; and his many uncles and aunts.
Kenneth worked for Coca-Cola Consolidated as a truck driver in the past few months before his passing. He also worked for Panera for 15 years. Kenneth loved to play with trucks ever since he was a small boy. After he received his GED, he went to truck driving school and received different licenses to drive 18-wheelers. Kenneth loved to be outside and drove all over the U.S. He also liked to fish in his spare time.
Kenneth loved his family, especially his mother and he made sure she had whatever she wanted. He also loved the Lord. When he was told he had cancer he was asked if he understood what he had been told, his answer was “I understand and it’s in God’s hands”.
Kenneth is survived by his mother, Margaret Ann Hinch Craig; brothers, Barry L. Craig, Timothy D. Craig (Guadalupe); sister, Tammy Craig; nieces and nephews, Dustin Long and Ashley Long; beloved pets whom he loved dearly, Sampson and Sadie; and a host of other family and friends.
Kenneth’s funeral service will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Bob Jolly officiating. Visitation will begin an hour prior to the funeral service. He will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
