Virginia Beach- John "E" Fletcher, Jr., 73, passed away on September 21, 2011. He was born in Washington, D.C. and was the son of the late John E. and Ruby Fletcher. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Barbara, Sons; Eric Fletcher of Boston, MA., Steven Fletcher, Capt., USAF (Stephanie) of Virginia Beach and Lizella, GA., daughter Andrea Fletcher Balsly (Ryan) of Virginia Beach, VA, grandchildren: Tyler Fletcher, Lauren (Michael) Daugherty of Norfolk, VA., numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and Sister-in-Law Emily Todd. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Ellis Fletcher. He honorably served in the Virginia National Guard for 5 years while assigned to the 615th Artillery Battalion Headquarters Co. He was a 32nd Degree Mason (South Norfolk Masonic Lodge # 339) Scottish Rite, Shriner and member of the Tidewater Coin Club. Furthermore, he loved to fish, hunt and collect old fishing lures. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Dr. G. Radkar, Nurse Kate, Dr. Willis, Samantha and Fred Chase. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, Norfolk, VA. from 7-9 p.m. and a graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 25, at 12:30 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to The Women's Center at Tidewater Community College (Norfolk Campus) or Lee's Friends.
