Jean O. Johnson

Jean Farmer Johnson, 81, departed this life September 18, 2008 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Mary Bell and Lattimore Farmer. She is predeceased by her husband Calvin C. Johnson Sr. and grandson Christopher S. Jones.

Jean was a loving wife and mother. She was educated at Booker T. Washington High School and worked at the Naval Supply Center for 10 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church Bute Street in Norfolk.

Jean leaves to cherish her memory four children, Brenda Williams, Calvin C. Johnson Jr. (Deborah), Rita Gilliam (Howard) and Christopher L. Johnson (Marcia); six grandchildren, Tasha Rodger (Terron), Katrina Johnson, Jasmine Arenas (Michael), Christopher L. Johnson Jr., Antwionne Thomas and Courtney Pone; five great-grandchildren, Gabrielle D. Rodgers, Angelina S. Arenas, Jakim Johnson, Kayla Johnson, and Kiera Johnson.

Funeral Services officiated by Rev. Gloria Newsom Dowtin will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at 10:00 A.M.. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Monetary donations can be sent to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
