James "Jimmy" L. Cason
March 14, 1942 – November 17, 2018

James “Jimmy” L Cason Jr., 76, sadly passed away on the morning of November 17th, at his family home, after a prolonged battle with a restrictive lung illness. He was born in Princess Anne County, on March 14th, 1942 to the late James and “Peggy” Cason. He was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Myra.
Jimmy was a graduate of Maury High school. He proudly served in the National Guard and went on to become a Master Mechanic of more than 30 years. His passion for antique cars led to fulfilling his dream of restoring his prized 1940 Chevy as well as a Chevrolet Corvair classic convertible. Jimmy received numerous awards from the Antique Automobile club of America to include the highly sought after Grand National Senior award for his outstanding restoration efforts. As Jimmy said in his own words..."My car means a lot to me because it has given me a great sense of pride and accomplishment."
He was a respected member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk, joining both the choir as well as the Evangelist Explosion Group and in which he ministered throughout his community and abroad.
Jimmy is survived by his two sons, Cliff and Allen (Carolyn); two grandchildren, sister; Virginia, two brothers; Leslie and Randy and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Norfolk, 312 Kempsville Rd Norfolk, VA 23502 on Saturday December 1st, 2018 at 11 AM followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
