Gary John Hickman

Gary John Hickman, 74, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 in Norfolk, VA. Gary was born in New York City to the late Chester and Norah Mary Hickman. He was also predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Lumb Hickman. Gary can best be described by his family as loving and very family oriented. He loved spending his spare time with them on their many adventures. He loved building model cars, ships, airplanes and loved building Legos as well. He enjoyed watching Jeopardy and was a huge American History buff. Gary retired from the US Navy as a BMCS after 27 dedicated years of service. He is left to cherish his three daughters, Jessica Gizinski and her husband, Paul; Christina Hickman and her husband, Wayne Gizinski and Renee Torrey and her husband, Jeffrey; four sisters, Gayle Hickman, Joy Hickman, Caroline Ostendorf and Cindy Zunke; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
