Obituary of Elizabeth Jane Godwin
Elizabeth "Jane" Godwin, 78, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 5, 2024. She was born in Elkton, Maryland and raised by her loving parents, the late Elizabeth Gertrude Miller and her husband, Vance. Elizabeth Jane was a loving wife to her late husband, Iven Malcolm Godwin and a cherished mother of four to include her oldest son Anthony Manuel and wife Judith, daughters, Mary Coatney and husband Allen, Suzanne Darland and husband Walter &Teresa Vanwoudenberg and husband Wayne. Jane had 2 sisters and 2 brothers, Arthur Anderson and wife Peggie, late brother, Gary Wallace and wife Margie, sisters, Donna McCauley and Pamela Bryant and husband Butch. She was a loving grandmother to 6 grandchildren, Olivia, Elizabeth, Mason, Kristin, Brittney, Taylor and a great grandmother of 7. Jane especially enjoyed attending car shows with her late husband, Iven. She also loved spending time out on the water boating & fishing with her family. She was loved by many and known to be a kind, compassionate loved one and friend. She always smiled no matter what and looked for the best of every situation. A celebration of life for Jane will be held Monday, July 22, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk, Virginia 23502. Jane will be laid to rest alongside her late husband Iven M. Godwin at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milner's Rd, Suffolk, Virginia 23434.
