Doris Estes Wade

Doris Estes Wade, 87, died June 13, 2023 at Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor. She was predeceased by her husband, Phillip Montague Wade. Born in Richmond, VA she spent the majority of her life in Virginia Beach. Doris was a preschool teacher early on, always loving any interaction with children. She was a very active member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church until her later years when her health declined. Many people will remember Doris from Bakers Jewelry in Virginia Beach where she was always helping customers pick out fine jewelry for their loved ones. Doris “Nan” loved life, her family, church and her friends. We will miss her. She is survived by her three children, Phillip M. Wade, Jr. and wife, Kim of Virginia Beach, Terry Wade Blaher and husband, Tony of Virginia Beach and R. Vincent Wade and wife, Carol of Chesapeake; two beloved grandchildren, Ashlee Hawley and husband Rob of Virginia Beach and Benjamin Wade and wife Brittany of Moyock, NC. She has three great grandchildren who she adored, Joshua Hawley, Taylor and Phillip Wade. There are many loving nieces and nephews as well. A Celebration of Life with burial will be held on June 22, 2023 at 12pm Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 6329 Virginia Beach Blvd. in Norfolk, VA. There will be a reception to fellowship with the family following the services in the Woodlawn Funeral Home reception hall.
