Dolores Padilla, 88, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Virginia Beach. Dolores was born in Baltimore, MD to the late Michael and Amelia Nowakowski. She is also predeceased by her daughter, Kathy. Dolores will be fondly remembered swinging from Max’s arms on the dance floor at all the family gatherings and celebrations. To all who knew her, she was fondly referred to as Mom, Gram or Aunt Dolores. Dolores was the “Rock” of her family and instilled strong family values. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing, crabbing and scratching lottery tickets. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A devout Catholic, she read her bible every day and a life-long member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Max Padilla, Sr.; children, Max Padilla, Jr. (Rose), Rosita (Stephanie), and Margie (Mike); grandchildren, Michele, Marisa, Michael, Lauren and Brittany
A visitation will be from 6-8pm, Monday, January 18, 2021 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be conducted at 10am, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
