God has called home one of his special angels, Sharon Martha Frederick, Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023. Born June 7, 1963, she was 59 years old and the 10th child of Lucien E. and Lois M. Frederick who preceded her in death. She is survived by her siblings: Emile (Janet), Patricia, William (Reggi), Jeanne, Mark (Athena), Raymond, Paul, Joseph (Gale), and Barbara F. Vittitoe (Bob) as well as a plethora of nieces and nephews.
For over 32 years, as a member of the Alexander Milne family (Covington, LA), Sharon enjoyed movies, arts and craft activities, and had a fascination with watches. Entering the facility as one of its youngest residents, theydubbed her "Freddy" and she quickly grew to be a treasured friend to many.
Sharon was blessed with attributes of wanderlust, tenacity, and empathy. As a young child, she had the ability to survey her surroundings and pick the right time to make her break--like scaling the screen door scroll work to unlock a spring loaded door hook--for a leisurely neighborhood stroll. They would call to let us know she had shown up, but said "not to worry", they were enjoying the visit. Quick to smile and dance, she enjoyed being surrounded by a crowd of friends and family. And, to those around her struggling with some trying situation, she offered a comforting hug and teary eyes of commiseration. Delighted with colorful apparel and emulating her dad, Sharon favored a red checkered flannel shirt with a pair of blue jeans. Experiencing hearing loss early on, Sharon continued to enjoy music through vibrations transmitted from the beat of the music and the swaying of her companions. She'd render her opinions with a Fonzie-style "thumbs up" if approved.
Sharon will be dearly missed by everyone. Her final resting place will be with her beloved mother and father.
A brief interment service will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 11:00am in Destrehan, Louisiana at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cementary, Gethsemane Mausoleum, St. John Patio.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to Alexander Milne Development Services https://fundraise.givesmart.com/form/zUUDXA?vid=ynygp or The National Down Syndrome Society. http://www.ndss.org/donate
