Melissa Roussel L'Hoste

Melissa Roussel L’Hoste passed away in the comfort of her own home, on April 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Keith L’Hoste, her children, Becky Madere, Hannah Cozzo (Chad) and Hillary Cousins (Jeremy), and her grandchildren, Caden, Rilynn, Leighton, Dax, Vivian, Demi and Weston. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Badeaux Roussel and her siblings, Ralph “Tootie” Roussel Jr., Kelly Laiche and Daryl Roussel (Melissa) as well as their children and many other uncles, aunts, cousins and in-laws to cherish her memory.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ralph “Bozo” J. Roussel, and her grandparents, Lizzy St. Pierre Roussel, William J. Roussel, Nolan J Badeaux and Mabel Duhon Badeaux.

Melissa was a resident of St. Charles Parish for all 62 years of her life. She and her husband proudly founded Cajun Comfort, Inc., a still successful company, in Norco, LA – Year 1988. She excitedly retired to care for her grandbabies until they were old enough to go to school. Melissa was a proud SHS Cardinal, a Destrehan Wildcat, the biggest Saints fan, a lover of all-things New Orleans, the best cook, a talented gardener, a great friend and a fun soul who loved music and dancing, but more than anything she was the true matriarch of her family.

Melissa’s true passion was creating lasting and meaningful memories and caring for those she loved most - her husband, her children, her son-in-laws and her grandchildren. She was the most patient, selfless, and loving person and will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 401 Spruce St. Norco, LA 70079, beginning at 9AM. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11AM.
