Mark Anthony Weber went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday April 17, 2024, surrounded by his family at the age of 72. He was born on October 11, 1951 and was a lifelong resident of Norco, Louisiana.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Winnie and James Weber, and his sister, Nancy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Shirley; his four children, their spouses, and five grandchildren: Casey and Elizabeth, parents of Stella, Gretta, and Joshua; Brett and Tian; Maury and Sara; and Yvonne and Charly, parents of Annabelle and Lillian. Mark is also survived by his brother, J.B. and sisters, Susie and Linda.
Mark attended Norco Elementary School and then Destrehan High School (Class of 1971). Mark earned an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology at Delgado Community College. Known as “Dub” to his coworkers and friends, Mark worked at Shell Chemical as an instrument inspector at the Norco Refinery for over 35 years, where he became a patented inventor.
Having lived his whole life in Norco, Mark spent many mornings hunting, fishing, and crabbing in the Bonnet Carré Spillway, a place he held dear to his heart for his entire life. After retirement, Mark learned to play the piano and spent hours learning to play songs by the Beatles, his favorite band. He enjoyed making s'mores with his granddaughters.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 11 AM – 1 PM with a prayer service to begin at 1 PM. Interment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan.
