Kermit John Brown, a lifelong resident of Luling, La, born December 26, 1934, passed away November 4, 2018 at his home. He is survived by the love of his life, Joyce “Pepper” Brown and children, Gwen, Kay, Rhonda, and Kevin (Claire) Brown. Grandfather of Dayton Bordelon (Megan), Michael Brown, Matthew Brown, and Joshua Brown. One great-grandchild on the way, Baby Bordelon. He is also survived by his brother, Percy Brown (Pat), and many nieces and nephews.
Son of the late, Lupton and Maggie Brown, he is also preceded by his siblings, Lupton “L.J.” Brown (Lois), Curtis Brown (Mary), Marcia B. Troxler (Lionel).
Kermit retired after 36 years of dedicated service as chief investigator for the St. Charles Parish District Attorney’s office. He graduated from Hahnville High School in 1954 and received an associate degree in Law Enforcement from Loyola University. He was a member of KC 2409, a lifelong parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a former usher. A member of the Fraternal Order of Police, LA District Attorney Association, LA Fraud and Forgery Association, founding member of West St. Charles Ducks Unlimited, and a lifelong member of Camp Ike fishing club in Grand Isle. He was an avid sportsman and athlete in his high school days, as well as a talented musician.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 234 Angus Dr. Luling, LA, on Thursday, November 8, 2018 beginning at 9 AM.
