John Michael “Paw-Paw” Wagner Jr., was received by Our Lord and Savior on Friday, June 9, 2023 at the age of 92 surrounded by loved ones. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Marie Bourgeois Wagner, son of the late John Michael Wagner, Sr. and Alice Necaise Wagner and stepson of the late Jean Evans Wagner.
Father of John “Michael” Wagner, III (Denise), Lynn M Coffey (Pat), Mark P. Wagner (Donna), Kim A. Schexnaydre (Nathan), and Mona E. Nagin (Chris).
Grandfather of the late Paul M Nagin and James M. Coffey. Great grandfather of the late Daverick M. Coffey.
Grandfather of Sean Wagner, Lauren Wagner, Jonathan Wagner, Brandon Wagner, Michele Lynn, Jessica Graf, Patrick Coffey, Jr., John Coffey, Mark Wagner, Jr., Jason Wagner, Casey Nelson, Colette Schexnaydre, Nathan Schexnaydre, Jr., Chris Nagin, Jr. and Sara Nagin.
Great-Grandfather of Dylan, Garrett, Landon, Sadie, Lake, Ava, Jonas, Jason, Cody, Matthew, Justin, Emily, Chandler, Demi, Payton, Jacob, Logan, Lukas, Ella, Allie, Reid, Claire, Hannah, Reese, Lilian, Khloe, Kory, Lindz, David, and Judah.
Brother of Charlotte Riche and the late Larry Wagner (Faye).
He was born in Kiln, MS, lived in Kenner, LA, in 1953 he moved to River Ridge and resided there until his death. He was a parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church in River Ridge, LA.
He leaves behind a “Legacy.” He was the disciplinarian of the family – stern, but very caring. He cherished family, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was in the Navy Reserves for 8 years. He was a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Union Local 60 for 70 years. He spent most of his career with Mechanical Construction Company and retired from Gallo Mechanical. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus in Kenner, LA, a member of the East Bank Bass Club for years fishing tournaments, in a bowling league for several years and in the St. Rose Hunting and Fishing Club. He enjoyed the “good outdoors,” camping, hunting, fishing. He will be deeply missed by all, but our memories of him live on forever in our hearts.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan, LA on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 11:30 am. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until Mass. Interment will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum.
