Joanne Dolores Dupuis Mongrue departed peacefully into eternal life on January 29, 2015, at 1:06 a.m., at the age of 83. She was the beloved wife of Kearney J. Mongrue for 60 blessed years. She is survived by 6 devoted children: Stanley J. Mongrue (Penny), Susan M. LeBlanc (Keith), Robert W. Mongrue, Melanie M. Waddell (Doug), Anne M. Koll (Joe), John M. Mongrue (Mary), many loving grandchildren, and her brother, J. Hugh Dupuis (Mercedes) and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Esther Pierson Dupuis and Joseph U. Dupuis. She was born in Houma, LA, on Nov. 6, 1931, and was a Registered Nurse for approximately 30 years. She was a devout parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She loved gardening, cooking, sharing special times with family and friends, and had a gift of turning the simple act of writing a letter into an art form of genuine words filled with affection and love. She will always be remembered by her warm, loving smile and her caring and selfless spirit. She was truly an angel here on earth.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at 9 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan, LA on Monday, February 2, 2015, a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM; interment will follow Mass at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests masses or contributions to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for your generous condolences.
