He was a lifelong resident of Norco, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard M. Lowry and Rose V. Lowry.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Janet M. Lowry, Scot, Troy (Darnell Aucoin), Dana (Bret DeJean) and Paula (Daniel Veron, Jr.). Grandfather of Brandon Lowry, Gabrielle Aucoin, Hunter Lowry, Taylor DeJean, Connor DeJean, Colin Veron, Cohen Veron and Corynn Veron. Siblings Elaine Jacob (Keith), Kathleen Johnson (Dale), Carolyn Vitrano (Darryl), and Eugene. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald “Donoo” was an avid gardener who took pride in his vegetables, especially his tomatoes. He took greater pride giving his vegetables away to his family and many friends.
He loved to hunt and visit Ft. Walton Beach and the mountains of Tennessee.
He retired from Marathon Petroleum after 24 years in 2000. He truly loved his work and coworkers. To many he was well known as a school bus driver and milkman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in celebration of his life at Sacred Heart Church in Norco, La on Wednesday, October 14, at 11 AM; visitation will begin at 9 AM. Burial to follow at St. Charles Borromeo cemetery in Destrehan, LA. Due to the current pandemic, the family requests visitors practice social distancing and wear appropriate masks.
