David A. Davis, age 77, born in Newton Falls, Ohio, formally of Norco, Louisiana, currently of League City, Texas, passed on May 13, 2024, at MD Anderson, Houston, Texas. He was the loving spouse of Gloria Dupleix for 21 years. He was loved by his children: Kevin Davis (Lucy), Brian Davis (Stephanie), Danielle Davis and stepchildren: the late Rodney Fuhrmann II, Ernest Fuhrmann (Nicole), Devienne Theriot (Michael), and Natalie Quinlan (Brian). He was also Grandfather to Kayla Field (Monty), Quinten Davis, Keatin Davis, Tayler Davis and Step Grandfather to Gabrielle Theriot, Nicholas Theriot, Rylee Fuhrmann, Rodney Fuhrmann III, Owen Quinlan, Vivienne Quinlan, Sienna Fuhrmann, Aspen Fuhrmann and Alanna Quinlan. He was the proud Great-Grandfather of Jace and Beaux Field. He is preceded in death by his parents Ted and Germaine Robert Davis as well as his brother, Ted Davis (Susan). He is survived by his siblings Jerry Davis (Catherine) and Sherry Edwards (Barry), as well as his many nieces and nephews. David was a pharmacist, teacher, coach, avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. He had a great love for preparing and enjoying seafood. He attended the Northeast LA State College, Monroe, Louisiana on a baseball scholarship where he earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy. He was inducted into the “Hall of Fame” where he set records in baseball as a pitcher, which are still held today. He was a proud Army Veteran during which time he pitched for the Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and practiced pharmacy. David was an outstanding athlete at Destrehan High School, Destrehan, Louisiana. He led his high school team to a State Championship in baseball and was named to the “All State Team.” He lettered in three sports: football, baseball and basketball. Visitation will begin at 9:30am with a Mass to follow at 11:00am on July 13 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Norco, Louisiana. Interment to follow at St Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan, Louisiana.
