Brenda Songy Simon

Beloved wife of the late Alphonse Joseph “A.J.” Simon Jr. Beloved mother of Troy Anthony Simon (Angelle W.), Todd Gerard Simon (Kim D.) and Dina Simon Livaccari (John). Beloved grandmother of Austin, Gabrielle, Zachary, Matthew, Nicholas, and Rebecca Simon, Emily Simon Macheca (Brandon), and Ashley and Kelly Livaccari. Beloved great-grandmother to Hudson and Addison Macheca. Daughter of the late Luke Gerard Songy and Gladys Guidry Songy. Daughter-in-law of the late Alphonse J. Simon, Sr. and Marie Perret Simon. She is also survived by her sisters, Diana S. Jackson, Shirley S. Perret (Camille), and Gayle M. Songy, sister-in-laws, Rebecca W. Songy, Lorraine S. Braden, and Miriam S. Costes (Peter), and brother-in-law, Gene W. Bass, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, Gladys S. Bass, Earl J. Songy, Carroll J. Songy, and Leonard P. Songy, sister-in-law, Irene W. Songy, and brother-in-law, Milton W. “Mickey” Braden.

The family would like to thank Serenity Hospice for their care and support during this difficult time.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, June 24, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgard, LA. Visitation will be held from 9 AM-11 AM with a Mass to begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery.
