Does Everyone Really Enjoy a Pony?

I want to share a story that I hope will make you laugh out loud.  When your mom was eighteen months old your grandparents, Congetta and Robbie, decided to take her to City Park to ride the ponies. While Robbie thought he was the greatest horseman in the world, my mom was scared to death of them and frankly would rather do anything other than take Annette to the park to ride them. He placed her in the ring on the little pony, while my mom stepped further back telling him to be careful. He secured her to the saddle and turned away only for a moment when the little pony decided it was going to make an escape and off it went, boogitty, boogitty, boogitty. Nette was laughing and my mother was screaming, Get my baby, and off went Robbie in pursuit of Annette and the pony. The pursuit was brief and Annette was rescued and that ended the greatest horseman's career.

Thank you for using the Guest Book. The idea the girls lost their parents six months apart at such a young age, means it is left to Annette's family to bring positive moments or historical understanding of their mother life as a child. Our hope is everyone participates and provides experiences her daughters can enjoy now and share with their own children later. The memories will mean everything to both of them at times of remembered happiness, grief, fear, and loss. Those moments truly come without warning. 
For Bobby and I, we have nothing but happiness where our child, our adult son, our BFF is concerned. He has grown like an invisible appendage that is felt connected to us every minute of every day. He in some ways is closer now, if that is even possible. However, when we and another close friend went to see the final Parts of the Hobbit, we cried as we did with the Second How to Train Your Dragon and the Second Despicable Me. Thinking now, there really are too many to mention as tears bubble up just thinking of seeing them without him. He leaves us coins. Pennies for Bobby and dimes for me, and quarters when we get tired and irritable with each other, leaving us to laugh at ourselves and remember not to sweat the small stuff.
As those who have the ability to rise above the fray and give without a desire to gain for themselves, we must try to provide special times that only Annette's siblings can provide for her children. Bobby is thinking of a time when they were children that they shared that made their mother laugh or brighten up that he will post to the Guest Book real soon. These two young woman can never return to the security of their childhood or the parents who held them in times of crisis when life's challenges came calling.  Now the idea of that comfort is gone and an unfortunate truth has replaced it, that they will have to live with and face all the world has to offer alone.

At fifteen Annette lost her own mother, Congetta Schefferstein. The love she desperately felt for her mother helped her to become the best possible mother and grandmother. The love and happiness she shared with her own daughters will follow along with them throughout their lives.

Bobby and I learned of your mother's passing, while looking for her address. We lost our son in 2012 and had spent all our time selling everything we own while planning our living abroad 2013 to spread his ashes in over sixteen countries across 37,000 miles. We still have the North America continent to achieve his overall expedition to explore our world. Robert had planned on working abroad once he finished his degree in Oceanography.  Carrie and Peter never mentioned your mother passed in 2014 at Loews; so should we run into them or have contact with anyone else we will make sure to mention this profound loss to them.  Our family has only seen the Schefferstein family members maybe six times in twenty plus years and although our closest memories of seeing your mother were at Jessie's wedding, the funeral for her father, and the baby shower, the memory we will remember most is the love she expressed and the selfless love she held for her two beautiful children. Her excitement on becoming a grandmother was evident to everyone who attended the baby shower.  The happiness expressed on that day is a time that brought out the very best of your mother, Annette. Each one of us born has the place we will return to that will bring us the greatest peace and understanding needed to fulfill our own individual path. Our belief and dedicated behavior to finding and living within truth has always brought us to this enlightenment.  So although you both must go on without your mother physically with you, her desire to bring you both into this world overrode her pain in this world.  What a beautiful and dedicated mother she was. She knew her two beautiful children were ready to stand on their own.  Your happiness in this world, growth, and ultimate paths are the most selfless gift for allowing her to move forward. We wish you both the very best that life has to offer and know she is as close to you as our son is to us. God bless you and the future of your family.  Lin & Bobby

I am deeply saddled for your loss. I  worked with your mother at Sonshine. It was a pleasure to watch the three of you together. She loved you so much. I am praying for you both.God is with you.

I was touched to read of the loss of your mother at such a young age and wanted to share something that brought me much comfort when I lost my mother. God promises to remember those 'crushed' in spirit and be with them(Isaiah 57:15)May that bring you comfort in the days ahead.

Miranda and Kristen, your Mom worked in my home for many years.  She was a GREAT person!  Please know that she always spoke so highly of you both each time she was with us.  I know that she loved you all very much.  I'm very sad for what has happened and truly so sorry.  I will keep you all in my prayers.

She raised two beautiful, independent girls, thought more of others than herself, and adored children as much as they adored her.(Especially my kids) I will miss her.  RIP my friend
